Camp in Action

Swimming comes first - so everyone in the water !

At Purchase Day Camp swimming progress is important, so each camper has a daily lesson and a second free swim to try out those new aquatic skills.

Our large staff of American Red Cross water safety instructors, as well as lifeguards and counselors keep close eyes on every camper as well as daily records of individual progress.

As campers successfully complete individual swim levels, they receive certificates. American Red Cross swim cards are awarded at season's end.

Sports are next - so everyone up on your feet !

Our fields, courts and other play spaces host all those great games you see listed above.

We emphasize basic skills like running, hitting, throwing and catching - all in a depressurized, supportive atmosphere for both younger and older campers.

Everything is age-appropriate, from instruction to equipment.

Campers 2nd grade and older try out our 12 element Challenge Course.

Each week during the camp season, a different sport is featured during sports activities. The 2009 featured sports, in order, were soccer, baseball, lacrosse, basketball, football, volleyball, and hockey. Read about our Sports Activity Leaders here.

Now add enrichment - so everyone get creative !

With an emphasis on self-pride with newly learned skills, we provide a wide variety of activities to stimulate curiosity and natural talents.

Campers love bringing home the treasures they make and performing in several different settings.
